We are working to replace our old friends, the paper & plastic bags, with something that does their job without creating needless waste or harming the environment. Using one Baggu for one year replaces 300 to 700 disposable bags.

We know that there are a lot of reusable bags given out free, or they only cost a dollar over some supermarket counters. However, should you examine the material carefully, almost all are made from paper (just another type of paper). So, these bags are NOT washable! In addition, the handles are usually stitched to the bag. These bags may not be able to carry as much heavy stuff as you imagine.
